Graduate students

We are always willing to consider interested graduate students.  However, to be considered, graduate students must first be admitted to UCLA through one of its PhD degree granting programs, including the umbrella graduate biosciences program (UCLA-GBP), UCLA-Caltech Medical Scientist Training Program (UCLA-MSTP), and UCLA Specialty Training and Advanced Research Program (UCLA-STAR). Dr. Dawson has affiliations with Molecular Pharmacology, Cell & Developmental Biology, and Immunity, Microbes & Molecular Pathogenesis Home Areas in the UCLA-GBP.  MSTP and UCLA-STAR students are particularly encouraged to consider our laboratory.

Undergraduate students

While we will consider undergraduate student volunteers in the lab, space is limited. Priority is given to undergraduates with strong research career interests and who are willing to commit significant effort both weekly and longitudinally over time in the lab (i.e., greater than one year, full time during summer).  We also give strong consideration to interested undergraduate students who are affiliated with UCLA-sanctioned research programs.
